Licence, privacy and refunds

This agreement is between you and Shubham Kashyap, an individual trading as Taqnik, of Holding No. 25, Village Ubhai, Post Paraiya, District Gaya, Bihar 824209, India ("we", "us"). It covers the Sweep software for Windows ("Sweep"). By installing or using Sweep you agree to it. If you do not agree, do not install or use Sweep.

1. What Sweep does — please read

Sweep finds developer caches on your computer and, when you ask it to, DELETES THEM PERMANENTLY. Deleted files do not go to the Recycle Bin and cannot be recovered by Sweep. Sweep can also end running processes when you ask it to, and any unsaved work in an ended process is lost.

Before anything is deleted, Sweep shows you every item it will remove and deletes only the items you leave selected. You are responsible for reviewing that list and for keeping backups of anything you cannot afford to lose.

2. Free trial

You may use Sweep free of charge, with every feature, for 30 days from the first time you run it. After that, cleaning up caches and ending processes require a licence key.

3. Licence

When you buy Sweep, we grant you a personal, perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use all 1.x versions of Sweep on computers you personally use. The licence is for one individual. Major new versions (2.0 and later) may be sold separately.

Your licence key is for you alone. You may not share, publish, resell or give it away, and you may not sell or sublicense Sweep.

4. Restrictions

You may not remove Sweep's licence checks, or reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble Sweep, except where the law allows it despite this restriction.

5. Privacy

Sweep runs entirely on your computer and makes no network connections. Our Privacy Policy, included with Sweep and published on our website, explains what information is involved in buying and using Sweep.

6. Refunds

You may ask for a full refund within 14 days of purchase. Refunds are handled by the payment provider you bought through; the receipt says how to ask.

7. Third-party software

Sweep includes open-source components, each under its own licence. They are listed, with their licence texts, in the Third-Party Notices included with Sweep. Nothing in this agreement limits your rights under those licences.

8. No warranty

Sweep is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not warrant that Sweep is error-free or that it will not remove files you later want.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss of data, loss of work, lost profits, or any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of Sweep, including from files it deleted or processes it ended at your request. Our total liability for any claim relating to Sweep is limited to the amount you paid for it.

Some places do not allow these exclusions or limits. Where that is the case, they apply only as far as the law allows, and you keep any rights that cannot be excluded.

10. Ending this agreement

This agreement ends automatically if you break it. When it ends, you must stop using Sweep. Sections 8 to 12 continue to apply.

11. Governing law

This agreement is governed by the laws of India. The courts of Gaya, Bihar, India have jurisdiction, except where the law of your country gives you the right to bring a claim in your own courts.

This policy explains what information is involved in using and buying Sweep, from Shubham Kashyap, an individual trading as Taqnik, of Holding No. 25, Village Ubhai, Post Paraiya, District Gaya, Bihar 824209, India ("we", "us").

The short version: THE SWEEP APP MAKES NO NETWORK CONNECTIONS AT ALL. Nothing it reads about your computer ever leaves your computer. When you buy Sweep, we receive your email address and order details, only to deliver your licence key and help you if you lose it.

1. The app

To do its job, Sweep reads the following on your computer:

• your drives' names, sizes and free space
• CPU and memory usage, and the names and process IDs of running programs
• your computer's name, Windows version and uptime
• the locations and sizes of developer cache folders, and the names of the files and folders inside them when you preview a cleanup

All of this stays on your computer. Sweep has no telemetry, no analytics, no crash reporting, no accounts and no update server. It does not send anything anywhere, and it never contacts us.

Sweep stores a few things on your computer:

• your settings, in a file in your Windows AppData folder
• your licence key, if you enter one, in a file in the same folder
• the date your free trial began, in that folder and in the Windows registry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DevSweep
• if Sweep ever crashes, a crash log describing what went wrong, in your Local AppData folder. It stays on your computer unless you choose to attach it to an email to us

Uninstalling Sweep and deleting those files and the three Trial values in that registry key removes all of it.

When you choose a link in Sweep — to buy it, or to check for a new version — it opens in your web browser. Your browser makes that connection, not Sweep, and the website's own privacy policy applies.

Sweep can show Windows desktop notifications. They are created on your computer and do not pass through us.

2. Buying Sweep

Purchases are handled by our payment provider, Gumroad, which acts as the merchant of record. Gumroad processes your payment and its own privacy policy applies to the information it collects. We never see your card details.

To deliver your licence key, Gumroad tells us:

• your email address
• your order number, the product and the price
• the date of the purchase, and whether it was later refunded

We use this only to create your licence key, show it to you after purchase, email it to you, let you recover it, and answer your support requests.

Our key-delivery service runs on Cloudflare and stores a record of each order (order number, email address, licence key, dates, refund status). Licence emails are sent through our email provider, Resend. Both process this information only on our behalf.

We keep these records so you can recover your key at any time. If you ask us to delete your record, we will — but after that we cannot recover your key for you.

We do not sell, rent or share your information for marketing, and we do not send marketing email.

3. Our website

Our website uses no cookies, analytics or tracking. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, for security and reliability.

4. Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to support@taqnik.in. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local data protection law, including the right to complain to your data protection authority.

5. Children

Sweep is a tool for software developers and is not directed at children.

6. Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top and publish the new version with Sweep and on our website.
